Managed New York, New Jersey and Connecticut region for this corporation of seventeen commercial health insurance carriers, subsidiaries and service subscribers covering 7 million people nationwide.  Managed staff of twelve responsible for 103 hospitals and 12,000 physicians.  Developed a PPO and Primary Care Program product, expanded market share in upstate New York, contracted all facilities, recruited and educated physicians, supported sales and marketing efforts of our carriers.

Developed and managed the Greater New York network until promoted to tri-state position, November 1993.  Negotiated rates and contracts with forty-five hospitals, recruited 3,500 physicians and educated hospital staff on provider products and services.

First Director of Health Care Analysis for this regional, Long Island based HMO plan.  The plan grew from 34,000 members to 87,000 members during 1991.  Negotiated the plan’s first hospital contract and assisted in developing a network of three additional hospitals.  Developed negotiation guidelines for, and negotiated with, DME suppliers, home health agencies and physician groups.  Prepared managed care reports to be used as marketing tool by ChoiceCare and State Mutual Insurance sales representatives as a Point of Service sales product.  Developed functional specifications for these reports.

Prepared benefit plan analyses for major employers.  Developed this plan’s first informational reporting system for utilization and cost analyses.  Taught healthcare finance to company analysts and programming staff.
